Open Day
The PPA Open Day is devoted to helping Polish community function effectively and it serves as a training day for many of those that still try to find a way to live and work outside their home country. The mission of this particular event is to make Polish immigrants aware of the psychological help available and its benefits. It is also a fantastic opportunity to meet with Polish psychologists working in the UK. During individual sessions which take place throughout the day, anyone can ask a specialist for advice and support. Every year, there are numerous visitors attending the event because it is a great way to integrate with the community and exchange ideas with regards to the current affairs and issues that Polish community is confronted with.
Moreover, it is a day of reflection on our lives and decisions we make. It is the reflection which is supposed to give us a perspective on our lives and may facilitate positive changes leading to an overall feeling of being satisfied with one’s life.
There have already been four editions of the PPA Open Day held in London. The most recent one took place on 30th September 2007 at the University of East London and became another success.
This autumn The Open Day was focused on issues such as: employment, career development, stress management, intercultural differences and life coaching. In the series of mini workshops and individual consultations, members of the Polish community were able to expand their skills, find answers to questions and problems of a psychological, social and pedagogical matter.
